The Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements - PIAP is the only producer of high quality mobile robots for counter-terrorism use in Poland.

The history of Polish pyrotechnical robots has begun in 1999, when the prototype of robot INSPECTOR was created. From the very beginning the future end users-Police pyrotechnitians, were taking part in this project, giving their opinions on the implemented solutions.

PIAP's construction engineers were the first to introduce a graphic interpretation of manipulator's arms position, outdistancing competitive companies.

Since 2000 PIAP is a permanent supplier of mobile robots and robotic devices for special forces (Police, Army, Border Guard, Government Protection Bureau).

A positive opinion of the end users and their precious advices, made PIAP's construction engineers carry on and implement further projects.

Next robots created in PIAP's laboratories were: EXPERT, SMALL ROBOTIZED UNIT FOR RECONNAISSANCE, IBIS and EXPLORER device. This is a family of highly technological advanced products, constructed especially for counter-terrorist missions in each environment.

A growing terrorism threat and development of techniques used by terrorists increased the demands for the equipment supporting missions of special forces.

To meet this requirements PIAP's engineers constantly work on new intelligent devices, which will make easier tasks of special forces.
