NEW PROJECT IN PIAP

In PIAP works on a project aiming at preparation of the next, robotized device for application supporting anti-terrorist operations are currently in progress. The project is a response on dangers resulting from area reconnaissance realized by special units prior to commencement of an operation. In many cases reconnaissance of an area or an object is difficult or even impossible (closed object, great heights, unfeasibility of use of other robots during an operation). Manual inspection devices used in some cases, as for example camera located on arms do not provide accurate picture of the object's interior or of the area. Moreover they require an operator to come very closely to the object or the area thus seriously putting the operator under risk.

TRM (Tactical Thrown Robot), as this is the name of the already existing prototype, is the device which can be led into the object from significant distance and automatically performs its inspection.

TRM as a single device can be used in situations when a need of active tele-observation arises. A camera located in it, a microphone and mobile abilities of the robot make it an excellent reconnaissance device significantly reducing the risk of health and life of anti-terrorists group members during the operation.

TRM can be equipped with additional external supporting devices, i.e.: blinding, deafening charges, explosives, lighting for the camera. It enables to use TRM to neutralize explosives by pyrotechnical units or introduce disorganization and panic among a group of attackers.
