Tests of BALSA robot officialy finished

We are pleased to inform that on November 21st , 2016 Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements PIAP received from the Inspectorate of Armament (Polish MOD) an official confirmation about positive tests result of the Light Reconnaissance Robot – Engineering Robot 1507 known commonly as BALSA.

As a reminder tests took place as one of the stages of a contract between Purchaser  – Inspectorate of Armament, and the Contractor – Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements PIAP for the supply of 53 sets of Engineers robots for support of EOD / IED missions, disposal of hazardous materials codenamed BALSA – Light Reconnaissance Robot (LRR ).

Tests of the device were carried out from the end of August 2016 in accordance with the Test Program and it confirmed compliance with the requirements of the Preliminary Tactical-Technical Assumptions (WZTT) .The robot was tested for compliance with WZTT and standards: NO-06-A103: 2005 NO-06-A105: 2005 NO-06-A107: 2005 NO-06-A200: 2012 NO-06-A500: 2005 BS: EN-60529: 2003.

The next stage of the agreement is to provide the Purchaser first unit of the said robot later this year. Next BALSA deliveires, according to the agreement are scheduled for the end of June 2017 and 2018.
